What is girls are pretty?
It's a site where you can put pictures, browse pictures, find the people who made pictures, and in general... spend time basking in the glow of images. When
you see a large image, click it to find out more about the creator.
If this site seems a lot like Flickr
and Zooomr,
you're right. It's just a simplified version of those sites. You cannot leave
comments on an image. We don't list trackbacks or anything. Just plain
pictures, captions, and tags. We hope to keep it that way. This site is pure Web 1.0.
I only see very few pictures. Shouldn't there be hundreds of them?
Make sure the search box at the top of the screen says only "search" in it. If it says anything else, you're searching for images, and what you're seeing is the results of that search. To clear
the box, click on the "all" link underneath the image you're currently viewing (it should be last
in the list of links). Then you will see a list of all (popular) images on the site.
If you are searching on a "mature" type of image, say nudity, violence, or religious images,
by default you won't see any such images. You must set your maturity preference in your
settings. Of course, you must be logged in to set your preferences.
I see advertisements! Are those against the rules?
Professional accounts may post advertisements. For all other members, advertisements violate the terms of service. That said, nothing is stopping you
from flagging the ad if it's of poor quality, in poor taste, etc, like any
other image. Advertisements are not treated specially. If the members dislike
them, they will not be shown anymore.
If the advertisement is well-done, we encourage you to just enjoy the
experience. After all, advertising will never go away. The best we can hope for
is to make it better and more honest.
Someone is submitting offensive images.
Offensive images are not against the terms of service. Whether it's an image of a swastika, nudity, violence, the prophet Mohammed, or a gun. If an
image offends you, simply flag the image. If all images by a particular member
are offensive to you, go to that member's profile and "ignore" the member. After
that, you will not be shown any more images submitted by that member.
Furthermore, your fellow members will be less likely to see that image. This
will increase the overall quality for both you and your fellow members.
My copyright is being violated. What do I do?
We take copyright violation very seriously here. Please contact the site administrator so that we can take care of it. Include your full legal name, physical mailing address, a phone number, and a list of
URLs of the offending works.
If possible, please also include your email address and/or URLs where
you've posted your copyrighted works. These will speed up resolution
of the matter significantly.
Can I advertise on this site?
We only accept image advertisements on this site. Simply go to our sign up page to sign up for your account. Then contact
the site administrator to convert your account to a professional account. Images that contain advertising that are not from professional accounts are against
the terms of service, and will be removed from the site.
Your advertising works in two ways. Either you can put your company message
into the image itself, and if users don't flag it, your ad impressions are the
effectiveness of the ad. Alternatively, if your images themselves don't contain
any advertising but are very popular, people will try to find out more
information about you via our "contact the creator" mechanisms. You might put
your website URL into your profile, or physical address, whatever you want to
advertise.
See our maximising your advertising return FAQ
page to learn more about how to effectively advertise on this site.
Sometimes what is considered advertising is a subjective judgement. If our members
are flagging your items as advertising, then it is considered advertising. If you
are unsure, do everything in your power to make it clear that your images are not
advertising.
